Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Kidscatchup (“we”, “us”) publishes the Kidscatchup Series literacy workbooks and the interactive books at lms.kidscatchup.co.za. We take children’s privacy seriously and process personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
Responsible party: Kidscatchup, South Africa. Contact for all privacy matters, including our Information Officer: info@kidscatchup.co.za, +27 64 532 9569.
2. What we collect
- Enquiries and quotes: the name, school or organisation, email address, phone number and message you send us through a form or by email.
- Orders: billing and delivery details needed to supply printed workbooks or school access.
- Accounts: if a school or teacher account is created, the name and email address of the adult account holder.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security and troubleshooting, and essential cookies needed for the site to work.
3. Children’s information
Our interactive books are designed so that children can use them without creating an account and without giving any personal information. Where a school uses class features, learner records are created and managed by the school as responsible party; we process them only on the school’s instructions, collect the minimum needed (for example a first name or learner code and activity progress), and require consent from a parent or guardian, or another lawful basis under section 35 of POPIA, before any child’s personal information is processed.
We do not sell, rent or share learner data with third parties, do not use it for advertising, and do not use advertising or behavioural tracking in the interactive books.
4. How we use information
- To answer enquiries, prepare quotes and supply workbooks and access.
- To run, secure and improve the website and interactive books.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.
We only send marketing messages if you have asked to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
5. Service providers
We use a small number of operators to run our services, such as our web hosting provider and email delivery. Operators may only process information on our instructions and must keep it secure.
6. Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and backups. We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as the law requires, and then delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent, by emailing info@kidscatchup.co.za. Parents and guardians may make these requests on behalf of their children. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
